Practice photographing sculptures to develop a style all your own.
Photographing art is a true challenge. The photographer must not only create an appealing photograph, but also transmit the artist’s intentions from the medium used for the art to the medium of photography. When you are making images of Garden Landscaping Sculpture, this is especially difficult, as there are so many perspectives from which a sculpture can be seen. However, by following a few guidelines, and with practice, you will find that photographing sculptures is, at its core, much like photographing anything else

1 Decide whether you’re shooting inside or outside. If you can move the sculpture, you’ll have a choice of places to shoot.
2 Keep the background uncluttered. Use a neutral colored backdrop, if available, to avoid distractions in the background. If you can’t, focus on the sculpture and try to blur the background. Always make the Stainless steel Flowerpot the main focus of the photograph.
3 Pay attention to lighting. If you’re outdoors, a cloudy day or at sunset or sunrise is a good time to photograph sculptures. You can photograph in a brightly light room or use a handheld flash and aim it at the ceiling or wall to create soft fill light. You can also use white cards to lighten the shadows of the sculpture.
4 Use a tripod to avoid camera shake. If you don’t have a tripod, hold your camera in both hands and pull your elbows tightly to your ribs. This will keep your camera steady.
5 Take shots at several different angles to get different perspectives. Decide which features are important to you and what your photograph is trying to convey.
Outdoor Fountain Sculpture adds a sense of calm and relaxation to any outdoor space. The sound of running water is soothing, especially when you are relaxing in your yard. Watching a water sculpture can be interesting for both children and adults. Make water sculptures from many different materials. Some of the most common materials are stones or tiles. A tile water sculpture is inexpensive to DIY. Learning how to make a water sculpture will save you time as you tackle this project.
Contemporary Water Fountain Sculptures
Contemporary water fountain sculptures are a modern creation with an abstract appeal that incorporates the calming element of water. The fountains can be found in free standing form, or come as wall mounts, and may require a lot of maintenance. Contemporary pieces add more of a cutting edge aesthetic to any outdoor area, as they feature bold lines and prominent shapes that give a more modern feel to that of a traditional fountain.
Stone Garden Fountain Sculpture
Stone sculptures are pieces of art that are chiseled from varying types and sizes of stone to look like different objects. Stone sculptors can carve an image into almost any type of stone and can use any subject for a template. Stone sculptures add a more traditional appeal to any outdoor area, and can be an expensive addition to a yard depending on the size and grade of the stone.
Classic Greek Sculptures
Classic Greek sculptures have been around for 2,500 years and were crafted as a means to give thanks to Greek gods for praise of good fortune, and to receive approval in their eyes for good times to follow. Many of the sculptures were created to exalt a particular god or goddess and were designed in larger proportions. Some sculptures were created to represent a myth or were designed to be a symbol of man’s purpose in life. Reproductions of these sculptures are a way to add a sense of elegance to any outdoor area.
Something is elemental about metal, whether it is the patina gained over time or the intricate details in a simple wrought iron fence. You can incorporate Stone Wall Sculpture metal into your home décor by using it on the wall for a practical purpose or as art. Despite your choice, use the metal as an extension of your theme.
Metal wall sculptures offer a modern and bold decorative option. Art fairs and department stores offer numerous options at wide-ranging price points. For example, John Searles, a Michigan artist, creates amazing works of sculptural art for the home and office. His pieces utilize copper, brass, aluminum and other metals, and he applies a variety of patinas and colors. His art can be hung alone or mounted on wood, and he offers art for all decorative styles and individual tastes.
Plaster is an inexpensive material, but it can provide a classic style that looks like a million dollars. Plaster wall Abstract Art Sculpture in the form of plaques, reliefs and medallions works well within a variety of home architectural styles. For example, Jimmy Plaster Creations in Brooklyn, New York creates beautiful plaster wall sculptures made from the “highest grade statuary plaster available” to ensure “high surface strength and the brightest white appearance.” Prices for these art pieces are very reasonable.
Glass work is another popular art fair material, and it can be seen in jewelry, dishware, vases and wall art. Art glass sculpture mounted on walls provides color, romance and brightness to home decor, and it is readily available at a wide range of prices. Art glass sculptures come in a variety of colors, so there is a piece for every room in every house. For example, Kim Merriman is a glass artist who offers stunning wall sculpture. She loves to fuse glass and metal for a modern and chic style that adds beauty to any space.
Sculptures and other wall art can help personalize your living space. Wall sculptures must be secured so they will not fall and become damaged or injure someone. Find the wall’s framing boards and fasten the sculpture mounts to them. Wall sculptures come with a mounting template so you can align the sculpture properly on the wall. Take your time and select a safe and aesthetically pleasing location for your wall mounted sculpture.
Landscape designers incorporate Garden Fountain Sculpture elements into a wide variety of water features. From the most elaborate water walls created by a professional artist and installed by world-renowned architects to a simple cherub fountain in your backyard, art and water come together for a pleasing effect. Fountains that splash, spill and bubble add drama to your landscape. Waterfalls provide visual interest and white noise. Birdbaths lend serenity to your backyard?
Outdoor fountains can be made of reinforced concrete, slate, copper, fiberglass or other sturdy materials. Stand-alone fountains surrounded by greenery and hosting a Sculpture that provides a vessel for a flowing waterfall makes a very interesting centerpiece on large grounds. Classic tiered or a more modern shape of impromptu rock formations can be purchased to match your garden and patio décor. Wall fountains can be attached to the walls of patios or balconies for a light feature that will attract birds for you to enjoy.
Personal taste dictates the type of outdoor Brass Wall Sculpture that will bring charm to your garden or patio. Greek and Roman stances have given way to Oriental designs, angels, gargoyles, animals and birds, fairies and multiple poses of children. Colored molded stone or marble cast with resin are used for many of the garden Sculptures of today because of the weather resistance and low cost.
Selecting a Size
Decide on a fountain or Sculpture that is proportionate to your space. Large fountains that spread over six feet in diameter should be used only in areas where there is twice the surrounding diameter space. Wall fountains need room away from activity and centered on a sturdy wall. Tall Sculptures also need room to stand alone, away from entertaining, so as not to look foreboding. Smaller Sculptures, less than three feet tall, can be placed within bushes, along walkways or in a corner on your patio for as a delightful accessory.
The Egyptians are credited for creating the first statues between the eighth and fifth century BC. Although the figures were less than artistic with rigid, unsmiling poses, the Egyptians opened the door for statues to become more advanced and impressionistic by the Greeks who formed the first freestanding statues during this time period. During the Classical Era in the fourth and fifth centuries, artistic contrapposto stances became popular in portraying actionable figures such as Discobolos (the Disc Thrower) by Myron, a classic Greek statue.Outdoor fountains can be made of reinforced concrete, slate, copper, fiberglass or other sturdy materials. In order to decorate your garden, you need to choose appropriate garden sculptures from a huge variety. There are many factors to decide before you choose a sculpture. Deciding the location of the sculpture is one among them. The harder and longer you use the Body Sculpture Power Trainer, the more calories you will burn. Knowing how to use this sculpting machine, in addition to proper diet, can significantly improve your overall health and well-being
Archaic Period
The first era of historical Greek sculptures was influenced by the body art statue of the Ancient Egyptians. The traditional Egyptians first brought body art statue to importance by emphasizing excellence of the human form. Even therefore, the traditional Greek sculptures of the time were considered unnatural and inflexible. The body sculpture of this time is criticized for showing that they were assembled in pieces. These statues are today referred to as Kouros (for male) and Kore (for female). They are known for their subjects standing tall and erect, looking straight forward with arms at the sides. A modern body Outdoor Art Sculpture artisans will seldom use the Kouros and Kore type of these sculptures.
Classical Period
The Classical period of these sculptures begins with the conquer of the Persians at Marathon. This military victory led to giving the body sculpture artists a way of confidence and with it, an desire to convey practicality to body statue. The advancement of this era in ancient Greek sculptures is that the contrapposto stance, in which one leg of the subject is extended to express a change in weight and also the presence of gravity. An example of the contrapposto stance of Classical ancient Greek sculptures is Discobolos by the body sculpture artist, Myron. The Discus Thrower shows the stress of his position and the results of gravity on him. Myron cast the original in bronze instead of the marble that’s popularized in reproductions of ancient Greek sculptures.
Hellenistic Period
The Hellenistic era of ancient Greek sculptures lasts up to the Roman attack of Greece in the first Century BC. The expansion of the Greek empire at this time is responsible for the widespread influence of Greek body art sculpture. This era is known for vastly improving upon the poses and lively progress begun within the Classical era of ancient Greek sculptures. The masterpiece of this period is regarded the Nike of Samothrace body sculpture. The dynamic of movement is thus precise the breeze blowing through the feathers of the wings and the folds of the attire can be seen with indescribable detail.
With countless garden Sculpture options, it can be daunting to figure out where to begin. Tour local Brass Garden Sculpture gardens and research in books or online to determine what garden Sculpture category interests you. Garden centers generally sell concrete or plastic molded statuary. Online sites, artist studios and auction houses offer higher end and antique Sculptures made from resin, metals and marble. Consider factors such as cost, style and theme. Purchase a Sculpture ready-made or opt for something customized.
Size. Are you buying an indoor Sculpture, or an outdoor one? When you plan to situate the Sculpture indoors, you should measure beforehand the dimensions of the space where you will display it. If it’s on a tabletop, then your Sculpture should be at most two feet high. If it will be on the floor, then it can be as high as the ceiling. Outdoor bronze Sculptures can be more flexible, although you should make sure it’s bit enough to be seen, but not too big that it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Installation. Indoor Sculptures can easily be placed on a tabletop or carpet. However, Copper Outdoor Sculpture might have to be mounted. Will you be able to mount the Sculpture onto your garden or driveway? Will the delivery personnel do the installations, too?
Design or style. Think of whether you want your bronze Sculpture to stand out or to blend in with your existing artworks. If you are planning to have several bronze Sculptures, then it might be best to have one main focal point, and smaller secondary pieces. You should also think of the theme of your artworks. These should work toward a cohesive look all in all.
Replica or original? Bronze Sculptures are reproductions of famous works of art. Some suggestions would be a replica of the Little Mermaid Sculpture in Copenhagen or a bust of any Roman emperor. However, you might want to commission an original artwork, but that would cost you more. Artisans and sculptors would be willing to take on original design works.
Where to buy? There are several places where you can buy bronze Sculptures. First, you can try visiting a local gift shop. Most of these would have small figurines and Sculpturettes that you can take home as decorative items. If you’re interested in bigger pieces, furniture and interior décor stores would have Sculptures on stock. Antique stores, especially those dealing with metal works and artworks would also have bronze Sculptures on hand. But if you need something customized, you can visit a local art guild, or you can get in touch with a known metal works sculptor or builder for a customized bronze Sculpture.
Copper sculptures are almost commonplace in our modern cities, particularly in parks, museums and in front of buildings. While the statues of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln may not bear any resemblance to the avant-garde sculptures of modern art, they do share a common past. Understanding where Wrought Copper Sculpture came from allows us to appreciate where this ancient art form is going.
But just getting a sculpture to decorate is not enough. You will have to take proper care of it, not only to preserve its beauty but its value as well. In case of copper sculptures, maintenance is not that difficult. Sometimes the sculptures are coated with lacquer like materials to keep its natural color. Colored surfaces on copper are not desirable as natural or vintage look appeals more. Also it is difficult to cover copper with acrylic paint. So color is not used as a protective coating.
Most often, Brass Garden Sculpture are available in the vintage or classical look. In such a look, it is covered in patina, the coating that copper gets naturally on reaction with environmental elements. Apart from giving the sculpture the desired look, it also acts as a protective coating against further action of the elements. So your basic thought of maintenance is taken care of.
So the only concern is about keeping it clean. Normally strong abrasives should be avoided as it can damage the much desired patina. Mere dusting or wiping with soft cloth is enough. If you want to use water to clean the sculpture, then you must use it sparingly and see that it is not acidic in nature. Acids and strong chemicals can destroy the surface by reacting with copper as it is one of the most reactive substances.
If patina of the sculpture is artificially induced then you can have problem cleaning it with just any substance. Follow the instructions of the art house from where you brought your copper sculpture as various different compounds are used to give various colors of patina.
Metal Wrought Copper Sculpture are almost commonplace in our modern cities, particularly in parks, museums and in front of buildings. While the statues of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln may not bear any resemblance to the avant-garde sculptures of modern art, they do share a common past. Understanding where metal sculptures came from allows us to appreciate where this ancient art form is going.
The 18th cent. modified the dramatic and grandiose style of the baroque to produce the more intimate art of Clodion and Houdon, and it also saw the birth of neoclassicism in the work of Canova. This derivative style flourished well into the 19th cent. in the work of Thorvaldsen and his followers, but concurrent with the neoclassicists, and then superseding them, came a long and distinguished line of French realist sculptors from Rude to Rodin.
Rodin’s innovations in expressive techniques helped many 20th-century sculptors to free their work from the extreme realism of the preceding period and also from the long domination of the Greek ideal. In the work of Aristide Maillol, that ideal predominates. The influence of other traditions, such as those of African Garden Landscaping Sculpture and Aztec sculpture (in both of which a more direct expression of materials, textures, and techniques is found), has contributed to this liberation (see African art).
Among the gifted 20th-century sculptors who have explored different and highly original applications of the art are sculptors working internationally, including Pablo Picasso, Constantin Brancusi, Jacques Lipschitz, Naum Gabo, Antoine Pevsner, Ossip Zadkine, Alberto Giacometti, and Ivan Mestrovi?. Important contributions have also been made by the sculptors Jacob Epstein, Henry Moore, and Barbara Hepworth (English); Aristide Maillol, Charles Despiau, and Jean Arp (French); Ernst Barlach, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, and Georg Kolbe (German); Julio González (Spanish); Giacomo Manzù and Marino Marini (Italian); and Alexander Calder, William Zorach, David Smith, Richard Lippold, Eva Hesse, and Louise Nevelson (American).
An element of much modern sculpture is movement. In kinetic works the sculptures are so balanced as to move when touched by the viewer; others are driven by machine. Large moving and stationary works in metal are frequently manufactured and assembled by machinists in factories according to the sculptor’s design specifications.

Bronze has lovely cost in the art world of sculptures. When setting in a mold, bronze will slightly expand & fill in the finest details. Several strange Copper Sculpture statues have been created throughout history; but due to the strength of bronze most have not been allowed to survive. Far more ancient stone & ceramic statues exist these days although they are cracked or in fragments. Most of the larger bronze sculpture statues were melted down for weapons in the work of times of war & lost as a part of history. The bronze alloy used both in ancient & modern time is very similar consisting of 90% copper & 10% tin.
1 Clean the statue with copper cleaner, removing all dust and debris. This will ensure the heat will color the copper evenly across the entire surface. Let it dry.
2 Light the torch and with tweezers to steady the Bronze Sculpture, begin to run the flame over the surface in short, light, even strokes. Copper is very sensitive and can become overheated quickly, potentially losing the desired color. The Etsy Metal Blog reports that the specific order in which copper changes color is gold, orange, pink, purple, dark blue and light blue. Work delicately and stop to check your work often.
3 Coat the statue in lacquer or wax after it has cooled to prevent the copper from oxidizing and losing the color. Be sure that the protective coating is specifically designed for use on copper, to prevent darkening or discoloration.
Coloring copper with heat is a fun way to add a new dimension to an existing sculpture. Heating causes copper to go through a range of colors that can change quickly. Though coloring copper simply involves the application of heat, learning how to control the process can take years. According to expert copper smith, Verrel Martin, the hot colors come first, then are quickly followed by cooler tones. For those just starting out to color copper, it would be a good idea to practice on scrap pieces before attempting to color a valuable copper sculpture.
